All for one

Last night, after a pretend stomach ache, I asked Lulu to check my tummy by referring to her as Dr Lulu. She wasn't happy about it and said 'listen to my mouth, I am a MUS-KE-TEER not a doctor!'

Sibuk laa..

Lately, my evenings have been filled with helping Nana on her new project, which can be seen here. As you can see below, Lulu has decided to lend a helping hand as well.

The potty pooper

We bought a potty for Lulu almost a month back but we have not been diligent in training her. Only recently we braved the future and embarked on the grand adventure of potty training. Currently, the success rate is low but we hope the end is not too far. It is still early days but we look forward to ending our days of wiping Lulu's rear end soon. Good luck to us!

Moving on..

Our household has been hit by a storm recently. It was a trying time for all of us. We were drained physically and emotionally. Our small unit has been put through the test but alhamdulliah, with the support from our family, we came out stronger. Nevertheless it was a much needed wake-up call. Now that the storm has passed, we are picking up the pieces and moving on with life and love.

Its time to turn over a new leaf.. :)

My little artist

Lulu started scribbling since she was 1 and a half, I think.. I don't really keep track on all these things. Most of the time her medium is crayon. Although we provide her with an endless supply of drawing blocks, our little artist prefer to scribble & doodle on her table top, the floor and our sofa (the walls are still safe for now).

During a recent trip we bought her a small, clip-on Doddle Pro, something to distract her with. As you know, Lulu is always amazed by cats and fishes which means mommy, daddy, bibik, bik sham, mak nana, paksu and in fact just about everybody has to draw cats and fishes over and over and over and over and over again..

While she has been scribbling and doodling for almost seven months now (again, only a guesstimate), nothing she drew ever made sense to me until of course yesterday. I was changing into my baju tidoq and Lulu, trying very2 hard to delay her bed time by doodling, called out to me and said "Mama! Fish!". And so I went to have a look and found the drawing below.. (of course I had to also show my creative side by adding colours to the background). Maklum la mana tumpahnya kuah kalau tak ke nasik? hehehee..

I am glad that I took a picture of her drawing because just when I thought my baby is an absolute Da Vinci genius and asked her to draw fishes again, she drew what looked like a crooked line and said "Aepane mama!", which in human language means "Aeroplane mama"...

The Mek 'Ganus

As always we had a blast visiting the girls. Although Lulu & Iman got into a bit of the push/shove/hit match, I can tell that Lulu tremendously enjoyed her time with her cousins. Look how cute they looked in kaftans. I call them the Mek 'Ganus!

Finally as promised, me in my green t-shirt in front of Atok's house. I must have been around 4 or 5 when that picture was taken.. and that brown skirt was also one of my favourites.



Now this one was given to me by my mom a few months back. She said it reminded her of Lulu & Iman :) That was of-course me and my sister. I guess amongst all my siblings, she was and still is the closest to me. We played, fought and got beaten together. Nowadays, we gossip, talk and shop together :D

Now my heart is full

I just cant help but marvel at this picture. I just love the radiance of the yellow rose combined with Lulu's toothy grin - just makes my heart full! This picture was taken during our 2007 post Raya Haji trip to Perlis and the yellow rose is of course a compliment from Atuk's garden.

This post is wayyy overdue.. and incomplete because I was supposed to scan my old picture and put it up alongside this picture of Lulu. However, our scanner is still in the box and as usual I am way too lazy to figure it out.

Well, enough of that. This post is about the green tee and the title speaks for itself. This tee was mine 27 or 28 years back (betul ka Ma?). Atuk managed to keep it in good condition for so long to see it now on Lulu. Anyway, believe it or not I wore this tee when I was about 4 or 5 years old to kindergarden. I guess it has shrunk over the years. And guess what? Its one of Lulu's favourite now. Maybe I should keep it for the next generation. What do you think, Atuk?

A Parent's Nightmare

I was ready to post Lulu's raya pics when this happened. Lulu took a tumble from the sofa yesterday. Our hearts break as her shrieking cries pierce the afternoon. We rushed her to emergency after looking at the bloody, bruised and swollen lips & nose. Alhamdulillah.. the x-ray comforted our worries of a broken nose. However, the after-shock of the tumble has left her with a fever and runny nose. As advised by the Doctor, we are monitoring her closely for any changes in her behavior for fear of internal bleeding.

First time swimming

This was Lulu's first time at the pool. Her dad took her for a quick swim after the picnic we had. Lulu was not sure what to make of it at first, though after a while she did a bit of splashing.

Gadis Melayu (Pumpong)

This is Lulu's second baju kurung. Her first is at the tailor - still in the making, to be worn on Hari Raya. This one is made of chiffon and a bit see-through. Can you see my pammy, Atok?

Aunty Ira

Lulu had lunch with Aunty Ira to bid her a fond farewell and wish her well in her new adventure. All the best Aunty Ira.. We love your new haircut!

Lulu's 1st birthday bash!

Our cheeky monkey celebrated her 1st birthday last Sunday, a day earlier than her actual birth date.

Lulu was due 30th June, but she came on Father's Day - a Father's Day gift that is unequal to any other.
